Importance

  1. Identify whether something is in the ‘top half’ (important) or ‘bottom half’ (not important)
  2. To decide whether something is ‘very important’ or ‘important’, figure out the extent to which it addresses the key issue. If it is a good thing but doesn’t outright help, it is likely to be important.
  3. To decide whether something is ‘of minor importance’ or ‘not important at all’, figure out how detrimental it is. If it is an unnecessary consideration but not necessarily harmful, it is likely to be of minor importance.
  4. If in doubt, pick B or C and not an extreme option
